Fall Is the Season to Reconnect With Your Girls (and Book the Trip)
Something about fall makes me reflect on the whole year. The air gets crisp, the schedule fills up, and suddenly I'm looking ahead to the holidays. Football season. Back to school. Friendsgiving. Thanksgiving. Fall is packed with reasons for people to gather and share moments, and that's exactly why it's on my mind.
Recently, I reconnected with some of my friends from school. Somewhere between the laughing and the "remember when?" stories, it hit me: WHAT HAPPENED? And where have I been?
It's been six years since I left town to settle down and raise a family. Don't get me wrong, I love my family and my two boys with my whole heart. But sometimes, I feel outnumbered! 😅
That's the thing nobody tells you. Life gets in the way. Work, kids, schedules, school pickups, laundry. Your friendships slide to the bottom of the list, and before you know it, years have gone by. You didn't stop caring. You just ran out of hours.
Talking with my girlfriends reminded me of who I am outside of "Mom" and "the one with the calendar." I want to be just a girl again. I want to laugh until my face hurts, order dessert first, and have a conversation that doesn't get interrupted three times.
Why fall is the best time to plan it
You're already in reflection mode. Fall makes you think about who you want to spend your year-end with.
The holidays are coming. Booking now gives you something to look forward to between the chaos.
The weather is perfect. Cozy sweaters, warm drinks, and foliage beat peak summer crowds and prices. Ever heard of shoulder season?
Planning ahead saves money. A winter or spring girls trip booked now gives you time to coordinate everyone's schedules and PTO.
And friendly reminder: a girls trip is great for your mental health. It’s the ultimate reset button. Time with the women who knew you before the carpool lines refills something nothing else can.
So text your girls. Today. Even if it's been years. They'll answer.
Until next time,
Your travel girlie,
Maggie
